Brief

Cuadrilla Resources Ltd required a highly available network infrastructure, which needed to be urgently implemented and maintained, with a view to lower costs, which in turn would be kept low in addition to meeting their fast paced business ethic.

Solution

After assisting with their initial urgent requirement to implement and maintain a high available network infrastructure, the process started in adding value to their internal systems.

The initial stages started with a Microsoft Virtualization backbone, implementing R2 with Hyper-V, a storage solution to ensure stability and a stable platform to expand rapidly.

Using Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Database Availability Groups, the highly available messaging solution requirement for around the clock email communications proved invaluable.

EZE IT demonstrated the capabilities of Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and Cuadrilla instantly saw the advantages of collaborative working and document management. Shortly afterwards the project was kicked off, Cuadrilla now works solely on SharePoint as a business tool.

Since Microsoft Lync Server 2010 was implemented, it has been a vital asset to Cuadrilla given its fast paced and diverse geographic disparity. Both the Instant Messaging and Enterprise Voice functions were implmented. The ROI on the Lync implementation took only three months after the costly expense of roaming charges owing to global travel.

The deployment of Microsoft Windows 7, Office 2010 and Lync 2010 utilising Microsoft's Desktop Deployment Solutions has ensured the rapid deployment of desktop and laptop computers is maintained to ensure operational effectiveness is upheld.
